I have been working on the construction of a new Deck and Patio for about 18 months. We celebrated the (near) completion with a cookout last night. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate. However, a few die-hards braved the conditions and remained until a respectable hour. Read on for photos.
Breeders Cup and Cards Football win make for a great day
The view from the 5th Floor of Churchill Downs on Breeders Cup, Day 2. It was a clear, sunny day, but a little cool. Jane and I were guests in the Brown Forman suite. Free food and drink. We got to watch U of L beat Syracuse in their football game in between races (and I could, of course, look out at the stadium from the track). Go Cards! The races were high quality and I hit the exacta on my last race. A perfect end to a great day!
Hilton Head photos
Here’s some of the images from my Hilton Head trip which I may turn into paintings.

Hilton Head Trip
I recently returned from an invigorating, albeit brief, trip to Hilton Head Island. I love this place and have been there many times. Usually I rent a house, but since this was a short trip and we were staying an odd number of days, I rented a villa at the beach. It was a very nice place and certainly convenient to the beach (see photo). As sunrise over the ocean is one of my absolute favorite times to shoot photos, I got up early and shot several images which I plan to use as references for future paintings. Stay tuned to see how this works out.
