Learning Landscape Painting from Richard Schmid

I have been spending quite a bit of time lately learning from the renowned landscape painter Richard Schmid.  No, I have not personally studied with him, but I have read his two books and watched his four DVDs on landscape painting.  I am drawn to his style and I am fascinated by his philosophy and approach to landscape painting.  His books and DVDs are included in my online “library” and my comments can be viewed there.  To see these, go to http://homepage.mac.com/jmorreau/deliciouslibrary/.  Now I am in the much harder process of trying to actually do all the things I have learned!

About James Morreau

I have had an affinity for art my whole life. I grew up in Charleston, SC, where I received private art instruction as a youth. My family later moved to Paducah, Kentucky, where I won art awards in high school and sold pop poster art to other students. I graduated from University of Louisville law school in 1980 and practiced law in Louisville for 25 years. In November 2006, I left the practice of law to pursue a full time art career. I have never looked back!
