1st snow interrupts traffic flow; 100 crashes in Indy by 2 p.m.

That’s the headline from the Indianapolis Star this morning. It explains why I won’t be doing the One of a Kind Show and Sale in Chicago after all. I got all loaded up and headed out for Chicago yesterday morning. There were light snow flurries as I was leaving, but I figured it wasn’t too bad. Until I got to Indianapolis, that is.

I ran into a traffic jam on I-65 which turned out to be caused by a car sliding off the road. I also saw two EMS vehicles going to a crash. I got off the expressway for a break and there was ice in the parking lot where I stopped. The temperature had dropped from 31 in Louisville to 24. When I got back on the road, I counted 7 more wrecks, one of which had 2 EMS units on site. Cars were smashed up and were being hauled off by wreckers. The Weather on my cell phone showed snow all the way to Chicago. This looked too unsafe for my taste, so I turned around and headed home. About James Morreau

I have had an affinity for art my whole life. I grew up in Charleston, SC, where I received private art instruction as a youth. My family later moved to Paducah, Kentucky, where I won art awards in high school and sold pop poster art to other students. I graduated from University of Louisville law school in 1980 and practiced law in Louisville for 25 years. In November 2006, I left the practice of law to pursue a full time art career. I have never looked back!

  1. Jim…Surely a disappointment for yourself + your fans. I’ve heard many good things about the Chicago event (from fellow artists). Perchance I’ll meet you next year at this event. Wishing you + family a blessed Holiday Season.

  2. Thanks, Suzanne. Maybe we’ll meet somewhere down the road.
